WHAT WE DO

The Institute of Enhanced Livelihoods is an international network that strategically catalyzes the empowerment of policy-and decision- makers across governments, communities and societies and accompanies them, as needed, so that they can undertake and/or strengthen activities that will enhance livelihoods. These activities are well carried out in the framework of the implementation of multilateral and regional environmental agreements and broader development goals, in particular the Millennium Development Goals.

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Institute is to increase significantly, in societies, communities and governments, the number of people having access to and using information, knowledge, tools and expertise for the development and implementation of plans that will deliver improved and enduring benefits for their own livelihood and that of the members of their societies and communities. The Institute will also support the development of these plans and their implementation through a holistic, effective and efficient management of our natural capital.

WHO WE SERVE

The Institute offers its services to decision-makers who need just a little push, a bit more information or motivation to take (the right) decisions that will lead to the improvement of livelihoods, and that will make a difference in the livelihoods of their communities. These decision-makers are found across the society. The Institute’s activities will be restricted to the needs of developing countries and, to a limited extent, countries with economies in transition.
